THE SON OF LIGHT
Description |
“The Son of Light” was written to honor the Christliness of Christmas. With the season so full of joyous music about Santa and the elves, Christmas trees, and yuletide festivities, the Composer wished to honor the solemnity of the holiday by reflecting on its spiritual significance for all mankind. Christmas has always been a festive time for families and children, but its origin as a recognition of the Christ coming to humanity is the real “reason for the season.” “The Son of Light” celebrates the coming of the Christ, manifested in the birth of the babe Jesus. The Christ is lifting humanity from the darkness of mortal thinking to the heights of spirituality, where the light of God destroys sickness, sin, and death and our spiritual freedom is demonstrated. This is what Jesus, the Son of God, was here to show us. That’s what this song is all about. |
